Carolyn was born and raised in Rutherford County in the rural community of Milton. Dermatology has been an interest of hers since childhood, and in 2018 Carolyn joined her father, Charles E. Goodman, MD, in his Dermatology practice. She graduated from The University of Tennessee-Knoxville in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. She attended nursing school at UT Health Science Center (UTHSC) in Memphis where she earned her Master of Science in Nursing/Clinical Nurse Leader and RN degree in 2012. Carolyn worked as an RN in two hospitals from 2012 to 2016 while continuing her nursing education through UTHSC. In 2016 she earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice/Family Nurse Practitioner. She is board certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. In 2021 she completed Dr. Perry Robin’s Advanced Training in Dermatology program.Carolyn, her husband Dave, and their two daughters Marcie and Violet enjoy hiking, kayaking, and camping. They live on the Goodman family farm with their 3 rescue dogs.
