Denise McArthur Flanagan, CMPE, Chief Operating Officer at Murfreesboro Medical Clinic & SurgiCenter, is responsible for planning, organizing and directing operational activities in the Clinic’s 19 clinical departments, as well as its ancillary service and support departments. Denise began her career at MMC 32 years ago in the General Surgery Department. Since that time, she has held a number of positions including Administrative Assistant and Internal Medicine Department Manager and Director of Operations before being promoted to Chief Operating Officer in 2019. In May of 2011, she earned the professional designation of Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE) from the American College of Medical Practice Executives (ACMPE), the certification body of the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA). 

Denise attended Middle Tennessee State University. She is a member of Medical Group Management Association, a Nominee of the American College of Medical Practice Executives and a graduate of the 2007 Leadership Rutherford Class. Denise served on the Leadership Rutherford Council from 2007-2010 and served for 7 years on the Board of Directors for the American Red Cross Heart of Tennessee Chapter. Denise is married to Greg Flanagan, Investigator with Murfreesboro Police Department, with one child, Kaylee. They reside in the Lascassas community and are members at Lascassas Baptist Church.
