For more than 70 years, Murfreesboro Medical Clinic and SurgiCenter has been committed to providing high-quality, accessible medical care to our patients and community. On a daily basis, our doctors and staff provide life-saving health exams, screenings and surgeries, but we know that good medicine is often more than a doctor’s visit.

In 2020, our mission extended beyond the exam room when our physicians established the MMC Foundation to foster continuous improvement in our community’s health.

The MMC Foundation awards annual scholarships to students advancing to higher education. The Crystal Scholarship assist the children of MMC breast cancer patients in continuing their education beyond high school. The scholarship is named after Crystal Brown, an MMC Comprehensive Breast Center patient. Her son, Michael, became a recipient of the inaugural Crystal Scholarship in 2019.

The Drs. David and Yolando Chatman Scholarship will accept applications and award it's inaugural recipient in 2022. The scholarship will be awarded to a U.S. medical/osteopathic school student from our local region who is also a member of a minority group that is underrepresented in medicine.
