ABOUT MELISSA
Melissa started her nursing career in 1993 as a Licensed Practical Nurse, where she worked in women's health, labor and delivery, home health, and oncology/hematology. After furthering her education, and receiving her BSN-RN, she continued in women's health, mostly in obstetrics, where she was active in her department in a charge role, implementing computer charting, and teaching childbirth education. While pursuing her masters in nursing, she worked as a clinical and classroom instructor for a LPN to RN bridge program. Upon completion of her MSN, she started her career in a family practice that cared for all ages.
Since starting at MMC, Melissa's interests have expanded in the care of the diabetic patient. This includes new treatment options, such as the newest technology in insulin delivery systems and glucose monitoring.
Melissa was born and raised in Woodbury, TN, where she still resides with her family. When she is not working, she enjoys walking, hiking, baking, reading, and spending time with her family and pets.
