ABOUT DR. SHANNON
Dr. Kimberly Shannon was born and raised in Murfreesboro, TN. She graduated from Vanderbilt University with a bachelor's degree in Nursing. She worked as an operating room nurse at Vanderbilt for two years and then as a research nurse for an orthopedic surgeon for 3 years. She then went to medical school at UT Memphis and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Baptist Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. She joined the Internal Medicine department at Murfreesboro Medical Clinic in 1998. She is a member of the ACP.
Dr. Shannon enjoys reading, working jigsaw and crossword puzzles, music and travel but primarily enjoys being at home playing with her daughter and husband. She is a member of New Vision Baptist Church where she is actively involved along with her family.
In October of 2013 Dr. Shannon became the Medical Director of the MMC Weight Loss and Wellness Program. She is passionate about helping adult and pediatric patients to achieve their weight loss goals in order to help treat or prevent multiple medical conditions caused by obesity. Through this program Dr. Shannon hopes to make Murfreesboro a healthier community.
