MMC Welcomes New Endocrinologist
Murfreesboro, TN – Murfreesboro Medical Clinic proudly announces the addition of Zachary A.-F. Kistka, M.D. to its Endocrinology Department. He will be joining Doctors James Rone and Warren Clayton, Jr. as endocrinologists practicing at MMC. Although a Michigan native, Dr. Kistka has been an active member of the Nashville community since 2010, when he began his Endocrine Fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Dr. Kistka is board certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is also a member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists.
Dr. Kistka earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI in 2001. In 2007, he received his Medical Degree at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, MI, where he was selected as a NIH-sponsored Doris Duke Clinical Research Fellow at Washington University in St. Louis. Dr. Kistka completed his residency training in Internal Medicine at University Hospital in Cincinnati, OH.

Dr. Kistka and his wife, Heather, live in Brentwood, Tennessee with a new baby on the way. He is a member of Holy Family Catholic Church where he is involved with the Knights of Columbus. When he is not helping patients, Dr. Kistka enjoys landscaping, playing volleyball, cross training, cooking and spending time with his family.
Fellow MMC endocrinologist, Dr. Warren Clayton, Jr., said of Dr. Kistka, “I am happy to welcome my former Vanderbilt colleague to Murfreesboro Medical Clinic, and I look forward to our collaboration to provide quality endocrine care to the community at large.”
In addition to holding a Distinction in Biomedical Research, Dr. Kistka conducted clinical research at Washington University which focused on the genetic causes of preterm birth. Though proficient in all aspects of Endocrinology, Dr. Kistka will focus on Type 1 Diabetes, Thyroid Dysfunction, Pituitary Disorders, Adrenal Disorders, Calcium Metabolism, Intensive Diabetes Management, Insulin Pump Therapy, Graves’ Disease, Parathyroid Disorders, Testosterone Deficiency, Thyroid Cancer and Gonadal Disorders.
