Pediatric Department - Important Announcement Regarding COVID-19

March 23rd, 2020

UPDATED May 7, 2020

Please see below for the most updated changes to MMC Pediatrics as of May 7, 2020. These changes have been put in place to reduce the risk of exposure to COVID-19 to patients, parents, staff and doctors.

  1. ONLY well-child visits (check-ups), will be scheduled in the morning.
  2. All visit types (both sick and well-child) will be available in the afternoon. We will continue to have separate well and sick patient waiting rooms.
  3. Only 2 MMC pediatricians will be rounding at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital nursery each week. It is likely that you will not see your child’s pediatrician at the hospital but patients will be able to schedule follow up appointments with their pediatrician.
  4. It is encouraged to only have one parent/visitor per child at any visit. All nonessential visitors are encouraged to wait outside of the building or at home.
  5. When entering the clinic, staff and providers will be seen wearing a mask. We respectfully request all adults and children over the age of 2 to wear face coverings, as recommended by the CDC, https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prevent-getting-sick/cloth-face-cover-faq.html
  6. We will check temperatures for all patients, caregivers and visitors that arrive for an appointment. This measure is put in place to protect patients, especially infants and children, being seen for well-child visits.

These changes will be in effect until further notice. Please understand this is a fluid situation and our team of physicians and administration is working tirelessly to protect our patients, staff, doctors and community.

UPDATED May 1, 2020

In addition to the changes made on March 23 (see below post), MMC Pediatrics will now be checking temperatures for all patients, caregivers and visitors that arrive for an appointment. This measure is put in place to protect patients, especially infants and children, being seen for well-child visits.

In addition to regular, thorough cleanings, our staff will be taking extra precautions by cleaning frequently touched surfaces more often throughout the day.

Lastly, we encourage all adults and children over the age of 2 to wear face coverings,as recommended by the CDC, https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prevent-getting-sick/cloth-face-cover-faq.html

Thank you for your cooperation.

Benefits of MMC Telehealth

UPDATED March 22, 2020

  1. All well-child visits(check-ups), will be in the morning. All currently scheduled afternoon well-child visits will be rescheduled. Staff will be calling parents to reschedule.
  2. All sick visits will be scheduled in the afternoon. MMC Pediatrics is asking all parents to respect this policy. This will help to ensure that our providers are able to take care of both well and sick patients.
  5. When entering the clinic, staff and providers may be seen wearing a mask. This is out of an abundance of caution and in an effort to protect our patients and staff.

These changes will be in effect until further notice. Please understand this is a fluid situation and our team of physicians and administration is working tirelessly to protect our patients, staff, doctors and community.

As of September 23rd, face coverings are still required at all Murfreesboro Medical Clinic locations until further notice. MMC is dedicated to the health well-being of everyone who enters our buildings. We believe that this requirement is still in the best interest of our community, patients and staff.

While this may not be convenient, our goal is to protect our community. Everyone is encouraged to bring their own face coverings to enter the building. If patients or visitors do not have a face covering they will be given one. Any person who chooses not to comply with this policy will have their appointment rescheduled. Thank you for understanding.

Your health is our mission.
